The Livret du citoyen: how to use it to revise

The Livret du citoyen is the official reference document that gathers the expected knowledge on France's values, institutions, history, geography and life in society.

It's issued by the public authorities and is the basis to revise for the 28 knowledge questions of the civic exam. It's the most reliable starting point, because it comes from the official source.

Reading the Livret is necessary but rarely enough: passive reading is quickly forgotten. The best approach is to alternate reading and practice, theme by theme, to turn reading into correct answers.

That's exactly what our theme-by-theme practice is for: after reading a theme in the Livret, you can test yourself on it, and every mistake is explained at A2, B1 or B2 depending on your level.

The Livret doesn't cover the situational questions, which are never published: for that part, only practising concrete scenarios helps you improve.
