Situational questions: the hardest part to prepare for

Of the 40 civic-exam questions, 12 are not about knowledge but about situations: you are given a concrete scenario from life in France, and you must choose the most appropriate reaction.

What makes this block distinctive is that these scenarios are never published in advance. So there is no official list to memorise, unlike the knowledge questions.

These questions test less what you know than how you apply the shared values and rules in a real situation — at work, at school, in a public service, between neighbours.

This is why revising only the already-public knowledge questions isn't enough: it leaves out nearly a third of the exam. It's also the part most preparation tools neglect.
